‘OxyKiller’
- Brand identity
OxyContin is a powerful opioid painkiller that was introduced in 1996 and marketed as a safe and effective treatment for chronic pain. However, OxyContin also has a high potential for abuse and addiction, as it produces euphoric effects similar to heroin. Many people who were prescribed OxyContin for legitimate medical reasons became dependent on the drug and suffered from withdrawal symptoms when they tried to stop. Some of them also switched to cheaper and more accessible alternatives.
To prevent this, I would create a designed solution that would warn future users of OxyContin about the risks and alternatives.
I created an informative leaflet aimed at rebranding OxyContin in a negative light. I strategically employed infographics to visually represent alarming statistics on addiction rates, highlighting the potential dangers associated with the drug. The leaflet incorporated a thoughtful redesign of OxyContin’s packaging, utilising stark visuals and warning labels to convey a sense of caution.
